The .17 Winchester Super Magnum (WSM), introduced in 2013, is based on a necked-down .27 caliber nail gun blank. It quickly became the fastest rimfire cartridge, pushing 20-grain bullets over 3,000 fps. Designed for varmint hunting, it offers flat trajectories and high energy, leaving varmints of all sizes in deep trouble! The cartridge is also available in a 15 grain lead-free option, as well as a 25 grain high energy option.
